Summary

TradeCraft is designed as a local-first app. The current iOS app does not require an account and does not use a TradeCraft backend login.

Your business, client, job, quote, invoice, expense, receipt, and job-photo data is stored using Apple's Core Data storage on your device and can sync through Apple's iCloud/CloudKit service when iCloud is available for the app. Where an installed app version offers quote or invoice images or drawn client signatures, those records use the same device and iCloud-controlled storage model. CIS contractor statement source files are stored separately in protected app storage on the device, are included in the portable owner export, and do not live-sync through CloudKit. TradeCraft does not sell your data and does not use it for third-party advertising or tracking.

Data you enter

TradeCraft stores information you choose to add, including business details, client records, job notes, quote and invoice line items, payment status, expenses, receipts, CIS settings and contractor statement files, HMRC preparation details, and app settings. Depending on the installed app version and features you use, this can also include quote or invoice images and drawn client signatures.

This information stays under your Apple device/iCloud account control unless you choose to export it from Settings, share a document, back up your device, or send it using iOS sharing features or another service.

TradeCraft's privacy manifest declares no tracking and no collected data sent to the developer. UserDefaults is used for local app settings and state.

On-device writing assistance

On supported devices and app versions, TradeCraft can use Apple's on-device Foundation Models framework to draft clearer quote scope or invoice note text from content you provide. This processing runs on the device through Apple's system model. TradeCraft does not send that document content to a Halo AI Services or OpenAI server.

The feature is optional, is unavailable when the on-device model is unavailable, and shows an editable suggestion before anything is applied. It is not used to calculate prices, VAT, CIS, tax, or legal or safety obligations, and it does not send documents automatically.

Device permissions

Subscriptions

TradeCraft Pro subscriptions are processed by Apple In-App Purchase. Apple handles payment details and subscription management. TradeCraft stores local entitlement state after Apple returns a verified active subscription. The free tier includes 3 jobs, 3 quotes, and 3 invoices; Pro removes those limits.

HMRC connection

If an installed app version has validated HMRC Making Tax Digital network access and you choose to connect it, TradeCraft redirects you to HMRC for authorisation. Environment-specific HMRC access and refresh tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain and are used only for HMRC workflows you initiate.

HMRC requires transaction-monitoring headers on Making Tax Digital API requests. A network-enabled TradeCraft build sends those headers directly to HMRC with each request. They can include persistent app-generated device and user identifiers, local IPv4 and IPv6 addresses and collection time, screen and window dimensions, time zone, iOS version, Apple device model, and TradeCraft product/version information. TradeCraft does not send an advertising identifier. Production HMRC requests remain disabled unless production credentials and the required fraud-prevention header validation are configured for that build.

Backups and deletion

Deleting TradeCraft removes the local app data from your device. If iCloud sync is active for the app, synced records may remain associated with your Apple/iCloud account according to Apple's iCloud settings. You can create a JSON export from Settings before deleting the app. Device backups and iCloud storage are controlled by your Apple and iOS settings, not by a TradeCraft account.

Children

TradeCraft is a business administration app and is not directed to children.
